About Me

My name is Lyuba Bat, I live in Israel and I work in the traditional technique of oil painting.

I am an artist, and I paint exclusively in oils. My paintings are a blend of the ancient Flemish multi-layered method and modern techniques and materials.

I prepare my own canvases by hand in any size I need — I prefer to use natural linen for my works (except for rare cases when I buy ready-made canvas boards). Each canvas is carefully sized and primed by me, combining classic sizing methods with a modern ground to ensure durability and a perfect painting surface.

For my work, I mainly use Williamsburg and Gamblin oil paints, which I appreciate for their exceptional quality, rich palette, and lasting color.

I find inspiration in the depth and timeless beauty of classical art, but I bring my own vision to each piece, exploring still life, portrait, and the subtle poetry of everyday objects. My goal is to create works that preserve the tradition of oil painting while speaking to the present.
