My name is Luba Bat and I paint with oil in traditional technique.

All my conscious life I devoted myself to my family — first and foremost as a wife and mother. I went to school with my children, did the shopping, kept the house in order and cozy. By early 2020, I could build and launch a simple website, handle a full spring cleaning, and always find the best deal for a family holiday.

But everything changed in 2020. The quarantine during the pandemic forced many people, including me, to completely rethink their life and daily routine. That period brought many challenges — but it was also the time when I found my passion for drawing.

Lockdown was a tough test for our family. My energetic husband, an artist by education (though he had changed his profession after moving to Israel), found it especially hard to stay at home for long. To help him cope, I came up with the idea of bringing drawing back into his life — I ordered sketchbooks, pencils, and many other things I barely understood back then. I hoped it would spark his old love for art and make our days easier. But he wasn’t interested anymore.

So, to make some use of all these supplies, I picked up the pencil myself. I started with the Basics of Drawing course, then moved on to acrylics — taking online lessons with Zhilyaev. And only a year later, in 2021, I discovered oil painting — and it became a true part of me.

Since then, I have completed many courses to develop my skills:

  • Vitaly Antipin: Basic Oil Painting
  • Vitaly Antipin: Still Life in Oil
  • Vitaly Antipin: Portrait in Oil
  • Vitaly Antipin: Flemish Technique
  • In addition, I took lessons with Sergio Daniel at the Institute of Arts in Bat Yam.

Today, I continue to learn, experiment, and grow as an artist — bringing my own vision and story to every painting I create.

Also 01.012025-31.01.25 participation in the exhibition Artists of Bat Yam.
